Plus size wedding dresses: cut, not scaled up

Why grading a size 6 pattern up to a size 24 doesn't work, and what we do instead.

Plus size wedding dresses: cut, not scaled up

Most bridal ranges are designed on a size 6 sample and graded upward. Grading changes measurements but not proportions, so the bust apex lands too high, the waist sits wrong, and the bride is told she needs to be 'taken in'.

What we do differently

Every gown is patterned from your own measurements. There is no base size and no grading, so nothing gets stretched into the wrong shape. Support is engineered for the body it is going on, not borrowed from a smaller one.

Photographs that actually help

A gown on a size 4 model tells you nothing if you are a size 20. Our bride gallery is filed by the size each bride actually wore, and by height. Find your own proportions before you judge a silhouette.
