A made-to-measure wedding dress at Vivian costs US16.100.000₫ to US38.700.000₫ — roughly 16 to 38 million VND. The most common range sits around 33.300.000₫. This article explains where that number comes from, what moves it up or down, and when you pay.
Pricing by line
We don't divide our lines by names that sound expensive. We divide them by hours of labor — because in wedding dressmaking, labor is what costs, not fabric.
| Line | Price range | Characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Essential 3 styles | 16.100.000₫ – 22.400.000₫ | Clean silhouettes, minimal embellishment. Silk crepe, plain satin, short reception dresses. The beauty is in the shape and the fabric, not the detail. |
| Signature 9 styles | 25.500.000₫ – 30.900.000₫ | Appliquéd lace, boned corsets, moderate skirt volume. This is the price range most brides choose. |
| Couture 21 styles | 31.700.000₫ – 36.100.000₫ | Full-body lace, sleeves with lace placed to match the pattern, multi-layer skirts, long trains. Many hours of handwork. |
| Haute Couture 7 styles | 36.900.000₫ – 38.700.000₫ | Hand-applied 3D floral appliqués, dense beadwork, sequins across the body. A single piece takes hundreds of hours of an artisan's time. |
What moves the price
Hours of handwork
Floral appliqués cut and applied by hand, beadwork, lace matched at the seams — this is the biggest difference. A heavily beaded bodice can take five times as long as a plain satin bodice of the same size.
Internal construction
Boned corsetry, shaping linings, multi-layer skirts. The client never sees this part, but it decides whether the dress holds its shape through the reception.
Amount of fabric
Full skirts and long trains use many times more fabric than a column silhouette. Short reception dresses therefore always sit at the bottom of the price range.
Materials
Imported lace, natural silk, and pre-beaded sequin fabrics cost more than tulle and standard satin. But the gap from fabric is smaller than the gap from labor.
Compared with making it overseas
A comparable made-to-measure gown at a US or Australian salon typically runs 76.700.000₫ – 102.700.000₫. The difference isn't in the fabric or the workmanship — it's in the layers in between: showroom rent, stylist commission, designer margin, distributor margin. Buying direct from the atelier removes those layers.
Vietnamese media has documented this. Dân Trí reported that American bride Ginny Deaza had her gown made in Vietnam for under 65.000.000₫ while a comparable style was quoted at 390.000.000₫ in the US. VTC News cited figures showing the cost of making a wedding dress in Vietnam is one-third to one-fifth of what it is in developed countries.
When you pay
Vivian collects payment at two points, and the first one only comes after you're holding a written quote.
- Consultation and quote — free. No card, no deposit, no commitment.
- 50% production deposit. Only once you've approved the quote. It holds your place in the atelier's schedule and pays for the fabric.
- Measurements verified before cutting — reviewed by the head tailor, not by software.
- Inspection video of the finished gown. You approve before paying the balance.
- The balance, then the gown ships with tracking.
Production takes 8-12 weeks, plus 3–7 days in transit. Order at least four months before the wedding to leave time for local alterations.
How to keep costs in range
State your budget up front
No one is going to push you into a higher tier. Once we know your ceiling, we'll choose materials and a level of detail that fit inside it, rather than letting you fall for a dress that's out of reach.
Decide which details are worth it
Heavy beading on the bodice shows up in every photo. Beading at the hem is something almost no one sees. Put your money where the camera looks.
Detachable skirts
Some styles come with a removable overskirt: full for the ceremony, streamlined for the reception. Far cheaper than making two dresses.
Order early
Ordering close to the wedding date forces the atelier to rush, and rushing always costs more. Four months is a comfortable window.
Get fabric swatches first
Six swatches sent to your door, free. Touching the real fabric before you decide avoids the most expensive mistake there is: choosing the wrong material because you trusted a photograph.
See it in person
Vivian opened in 1997 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — 29 years at the same address. You can come try dresses on in person, or book a video consultation if you're far away. Both are free.
